A Dementia Friendly Community is:
A leader in innovation and research in dementia and Alzheimer’s, The Brenda Strafford Foundation is constantly working to meet changing needs in the community and those affected by the diagnosis. Working together to build a compassionate and caring community, it is vitally important to support those living with dementia so their caregivers feel safe, supported and included in the places where they work, live and socialize.
The Dementia Friendly Communities project aims to facilitate community education and ensure community supports for people with dementia and their caregivers to aid them in remaining in the community for as long as possible, retaining their quality of life and raising awareness of dementia to help reduce stigma.
Charitable contributions are encouraged to support our project development, research and innovation in dementia care, patient and family resources, events and public education sessions.
