Press Start on Connection: Memory Lane Games Arrives at The Brenda Strafford Foundation

The Dr. Barrie Strafford Centre for Learning, Innovation, and Quality (CLIQ) is pleased to announce the launch of a new trial with Memory Lane Games at The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s Bow View Manor and Wentworth Manor, introducing an innovative digital tool designed to support people living with dementia and the teams who care for them. This marks the first trial of Memory Lane Games in Canada.

Memory Lane Games offers a library of engaging and easy-to-use games specifically developed for individuals experiencing memory loss. The games are designed to stimulate memory, visual reasoning, and communication through familiar topics and imagery. By tapping into positive memories and shared experiences, the platform helps spark conversation, reminiscence, and meaningful social interaction between residents, families, and care teams.

For care providers, tools like Memory Lane Games can offer new ways to support engagement and connection in daily care. The intuitive design allows residents to participate independently or alongside staff and loved ones, creating opportunities for joyful moments and relationship-building.

The trial at Bow View Manor and Wentworth Manor is part of CLIQ’s broader commitment to exploring and evaluating practical innovations that can enhance quality of life in continuing care settings.

Speaking at their base in Isle of Man, Founder of Memory Lane games, Bruce Elliot said "I am delighted to see this trial launched, as a Canadian, it brings me additional pride. Peter & I started our App for our own Mums and it's great to see it being evaluated by such an expert team at BSF. We look forward to sharing the findings"

As the initiative progresses, CLIQ will share insights and updates on how the technology is being used and the impact it may have for residents and care teams.
