In October 2025, Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm and one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes ever recorded, impacted Jamaica.
Ahead of the storm, the team worked tirelessly to prepare residents, secure facilities, stock essential supplies, and ensure continuity of care.
While the storm caused significant property damage, including the loss of several roofs, residents and staff remained safe.
In the months that followed, recovery and rebuilding efforts continued across our facilities. All damaged roofs have now been fully restored using a new interlocking roofing system designed to provide greater resilience against hurricane-force winds.
The response to Hurricane Melissa demonstrated the dedication of our team, both in preparing for the storm and in the months of recovery that followed. We are grateful to everyone who worked to keep residents safe, maintain essential services and help our communities rebuild.
