Red Deer Polytechnic visited The Brenda Strafford Foundation’s Wentworth Manor to kick off a new initiative focused on enhancing the resident dining experience. This collaborative project will examine meal service practices, including food-temperature protocols, to ensure meals are not only safe and nutritious but also enjoyable and supportive of residents’ overall quality of life.
The project brings together students, researchers, and care teams to take an evidence-informed approach to innovation in continuing care. By observing, analyzing, and testing new strategies, the team aims to identify best practices that can be shared across care settings and implemented to improve daily living for residents.
This initiative reflects a commitment to person-centered care, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Through this partnership, both students and staff gain valuable insights into the realities of daily life in long-term care, while residents benefit from meals and dining experiences designed to enhance well-being.
Updates on the project will be shared as it progresses, highlighting lessons learned, practical outcomes, and stories from the teams involved.
