The Brenda Strafford Foundation Celebrates 50 Years of Impact

On August 21, 2025, we came together to honour a major milestone with our 50th anniversary event. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate our journey and the vision that continues to guide us today. The support of our community empowers and enables us to make a difference in people’s lives every day.

This year, The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) proudly celebrates 50 years of making a difference. From delivering exceptional seniors care and community programs in Alberta to pioneering international healthcare initiatives in the Caribbean, we have built a legacy of compassion, innovation, and social impact.

BSF was established on August 15, 1975 by Dr. Barrie I. Strafford to honour his late wife, Brenda Strafford. As we celebrate five decades of impact, we also look ahead with purpose and remain steadfast in our vision to create a future where people can live life to the fullest — with dignity, hope, and happiness — in caring and supportive communities.

Happy 50th, BSF! Here’s to the next chapter of innovation, compassion, and community.

"To do good in the world, that was my Dad's life work. We've accomplished a lot in 50 years, and hope to continue as long as we can." - Roxanne Sissons
