Truth & Reconciliation: Land Acknowledgement

As an organization, we are committed to enhancing our understanding of and incorporating Indigenous practices, knowledge, and values.  Land Acknowledgements are an important part of this commitment.

Land Acknowledgement:

In the spirit of respect, reconciliation, and gratitude, we honour and acknowledge that our services are provided on the traditional territories of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations, the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda First Nation including the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Good Stoney Bands.

Calgary and Okotoks are also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta Battle River Territory Districts 4, 5 and 6.

We are grateful for the many First Nations who have lived in and cared for these lands for generations. We also acknowledge that we have ongoing responsibilities to protect, honour, and celebrate all life within our shared communities.

We are pleased to share the following additional links and resources available in the community to deepen our knowledge and understanding on the path toward reconciliation.
