Rec@Home is an innovative online recreation program created and operated by BSF that focuses on improving and/or maintaining older adults’ physical, mental, emotional, and social wellbeing using therapeutic recreation activities. Individuals can connect and build community from the comfort and convenience of their own homes by participating in virtual gatherings and activities in a safe and welcoming environment. Furthermore, this program offers support and respite for caregivers while providing a valuable tool to help address the special needs of those under their care.
Caregivers Alberta provides Alberta’s one million unpaid family caregivers with the support they need to sustain their pivotal roles.
“This partnership will be a powerful and positive way to ensure more Alberta caregivers have the support and access needed to ensure respite, peace of mind, provide engagement, build community, and avoid burnout. It will also ensure caregivers have immediate and direct access to resources, supports, and services offered by Caregivers Alberta and The Brenda Strafford Foundation,” says Darrel Gregory, Executive Director of Caregivers Alberta
This partnership aligns BSF’s mission to be an innovative force in optimizing well-being and enriching lives with Caregivers Alberta’s mission to empower caregivers and promote their well-being. Together, we continue to create a future where people can live life to the fullest, with dignity, hope and happiness — in caring and supportive communities.
